Shock Technical Sports Equipment
Shock Technical Sports Equipment is a UK-based manufacturer of high-performance sailing hardware, founded by Simon Hiscocks. Built on Olympic campaign experience, Shock produces foot straps, carbon brackets, trapeze handles, tiller extensions and harnesses used on some of the fastest boats in the world.
Shock began at the Sydney Olympics, where founder Simon Hiscocks started producing specialist hardware for the 49er campaign. What started with a carbon compass bracket evolved into foot straps, carbon trapeze handles and brackets developed during the Athens campaign – and the foot straps in particular attracted serious attention from the performance sailing community.
Since then, Shock equipment has found its way onto F18 and Tornado catamarans, Musto Skiffs, International 14s, 18-foot skiffs, 29ers and 49ers. The range has grown to include tiller extensions, carbon tube, trapeze harnesses – including custom-fitted options – and a growing selection of bags, covers and sail repair services.
The philosophy behind every Shock product is simple: keep it simple, keep it light, keep it functional.
