Finding quality sailing equipment shouldn't mean choosing between performance and budget. Our clearance section exists because we're constantly refreshing our range, which means past-season stock and discontinued lines need to move on. Your gain.

Here you'll find technical sailing clothing from industry leaders – Musto jackets that have protected offshore crews, Gill wetsuits built for championship racing, Zhik gear trusted by Olympic sailors. The brands are the same ones we'd recommend at full price; the only difference is availability. Sizes and colourways are limited, and when stock sells through, it won't return.

Beyond clothing, our clearance chandlery includes deck fittings, rope, boat care products and accessories. These are the same precision-engineered components we supply to competitive sailors across the UK – Allen blocks, Ronstan hardware, Harken systems. End-of-line doesn't mean end-of-life; it simply means we're making space for updated ranges.

We're upfront about condition. Some items have been in storage and may show fold marks or arrive without original tags. This doesn't affect function, but if you're gift-buying or need pristine packaging, factor this in.

Clearance stock moves quickly, particularly ahead of the sailing season when sailors are preparing boats and refreshing kit bags. We update this section regularly as new items come through from our Northampton warehouse. If you spot something that works for your sailing – act on it. Limited stock means limited opportunity.

Finding the Right Clearance Sailing Gear

Clearance shopping for sailing equipment requires a different approach than browsing full-price ranges. Stock is finite, sizes aren't always complete, and the best items disappear fast. Understanding what to look for helps you find genuine value rather than just reduced prices.

Clothing and Wetsuit Clearance

Technical sailing clothing dominates our clearance section. Offshore jackets from Gill and Musto appear regularly – these are substantial investments at full price, and clearance pricing makes high-specification protection accessible to more sailors. Look for features that matter to your sailing: sealed seams for coastal work, breathable membranes for active racing, reinforced knees for dinghy crews.

Wetsuit clearance follows seasonal patterns. Summer stock reduces through autumn, while heavier winter neoprene often appears in spring sales. If you're flexible on colour, clearance wetsuits offer excellent value. The thermal properties and construction quality remain identical to current-season stock.

Base layers, spray tops and sailing trousers cycle through clearance as brands update their ranges. These items see hard use and regular replacement, making clearance pricing particularly attractive for club sailors building practical wardrobes rather than chasing the latest releases.

Chandlery and Hardware Deals

Sailing chandlery clearance often includes perfectly serviceable items from discontinued product lines. Deck fittings, blocks, shackles and control systems don't date in the same way clothing does – a clearance cleat functions identically to its replacement. If you're fitting out a boat or maintaining existing hardware, clearance chandlery stretches your budget significantly.

Rope clearance deserves particular attention. Halyards, sheets and control lines wear over time, and replacing them with quality running rigging improves both performance and safety. Clearance rope from manufacturers like Marlow offers considerable savings on essential consumables.

Boat care products, sealants and maintenance items appear in clearance when packaging updates or product formulations change. The contents work exactly as intended – only the labels differ.

Making Smart Clearance Purchases

Check sizing carefully before ordering clearance items. Size guides vary between brands, and clearance stock cannot always be exchanged for alternatives. Measure against garments you own and consult our size charts. If you're between sizes or uncertain, contact our team before purchasing.

Consider your actual sailing requirements rather than theoretical uses. A heavily discounted offshore jacket represents poor value if you sail dinghies on inland waters. Match clearance purchases to genuine needs, and the savings become meaningful rather than illusory.

Act decisively on clearance items. Unlike regular stock, we cannot reorder sold-out clearance lines. If an item suits your needs and budget, delay risks missing the opportunity entirely.

What to Expect from Clearance Stock

We're transparent about clearance condition. Items may show fold marks from warehouse storage, particularly larger garments and covers. Tags might be missing or damaged. Packaging may show wear. None of this affects how the product performs on the water.

All clearance items remain covered by manufacturer warranties where applicable. You're buying genuine branded equipment at reduced prices, not seconds or damaged goods. The reduction reflects our need to move stock rather than any quality compromise.

Seasonal Clearance Patterns

Understanding when clearance stock appears helps you plan purchases. Post-season clearance typically runs from late autumn through winter as we make space for next year's ranges. Pre-season clearance happens in early spring when final previous-year stock moves through.

Major brands announce new collections at industry events, triggering clearance of outgoing lines. Following sailing news helps you anticipate when favoured brands might appear in our sale section.

Building a Kit Bag from Clearance

New sailors and those returning to the water can equip themselves thoughtfully through clearance shopping. Prioritise safety equipment and weather protection first – buoyancy aids, sailing jackets and appropriate footwear form your foundation. Layer clearance technical clothing over this base as budget allows.

Experienced sailors often use clearance strategically, stocking up on consumables and spares when pricing favours bulk purchases. Gloves, hats, and base layers wear through regular use. Buying multiples during clearance means you're prepared when items need replacing mid-season.

Clearance for Club and Training Fleets

Sailing clubs and training centres find clearance particularly valuable when equipping multiple sailors. Youth programme managers, RYA centres and university sailing clubs can stretch limited budgets further through clearance purchasing. Contact our team directly for larger orders – we can advise on available stock and help coordinate sizes across groups.
