Seldén Phantom Kappa Mast

The Seldén Phantom Complete Mast in Kappa section was the top championship specification alloy spar for the Phantom before carbon became the dominant choice at the front of the fleet. Supplied complete with external tangs for the standing rigging, a fully adjustable spreader system with vernier length adjusters and ball bearing spinnaker halyard and pole lift boxes. The Seldén Phantom Kappa is a championship-proven alloy mast that served as the top specification spar for the class before many front-of-fleet sailors made the move to carbon. For Phantom sailors racing at club level, returning to the class, or looking for a reliable and cost-effective alternative to carbon, the Kappa delivers proven performance in a complete, ready-to-rig package.

The Phantom's large roach mainsail places significant demands on the rig – mast stiffness, spreader setup and lower tension all play a major role in how the sail depowers as conditions build. The Kappa section provides a well-balanced stiffness profile, giving Phantom helms the control they need across a wide range of conditions and helm weights.

Fittings include ball bearing spinnaker halyard and pole lift boxes, gooseneck with stainless steel spigot and positive lock, and an integrated take-off for a rig tension system. Automatic release of outhaul and boom squares further downwind. Optional extended gooseneck available.
