Topper Lower Mast Chafe Tape Are you fed up of having a sloppy mast in the mast gate? The P&B Race Team have found the solution. A new product called PROtect Chafe Tape is super tough and super sticky as well as being incredibly slippery. Wrap this round your mast just above the deck collar to stop your mast wallowing around whilst sailing (not quick!) Supplied in a length long enough to wrap round your mast twice. PROtect chafe tape saves your boat from chafe, wear and dings, saving you the time and money it takes to repair them! It uses an acrylic glue to stick hard to the surface you require. A pressure sensitive tape using extremely high molecular weight polyethylene film with an aggressive acrylic adhesive. The result is a very tough material, with the highest impact strength of any thermoplastic presently made. It is highly resistant to corrosive chemicals, with exception to oxidising acids. It has extremely low moisture absorption, has a very low coefficient of friction, is self-lubricating and is highly resistant to abrasion (15 times more resistant to abrasion than carbon steel).
