P&B's 5O5 Radial Mainsail draws on over 50 years of sail-making experience.
Each sail is constructed here in our UK sailloft, using current design software and quality materials. Hand-marking throughout ensures accuracy and consistency.
Our sails have been used to achieve World, European and National championship wins across various classes.
Our 5O5 mainsails are built using either ODL04 or ODL06 cloths in a radial cut design, engineered for strength, precision, and longevity. The radial panel layout produces a stronger, lower-stretch sail with reduced overall weight. Because the fibers follow the mainsail’s primary load paths, trimming and control are more precise.
Each sail is available in either a flat or full cut. As a general guide, crews under 90–95 kg will benefit from the flatter design, while heavier crews typically prefer the fuller shape for optimal balance and power.
Available in Two Cuts:
Flat: Designed for lighter crews (under 90/95kg) using the Seldén Cumulus, Alto or Superspar M2.
Full: Our standard cut for the Superspar M2, Cumulus and Seldén Alto. A versatile option that works across varying conditions.
