Allen Laser Lower Vang Unit

The Allen Laser / ILCA Lower Vang Unit provides smooth, low-friction control of the kicker/vang line from the mast. Its swivel-mounted cam cleat allows the control line to be pulled from different angles, while the integrated block arrangement helps prevent the line from twisting under load. It also incorporates a removable clevis pin for dead-ending the Cunningham control line. The unit is Laser and ILCA class legal.

The Allen Laser / ILCA Lower Vang Unit is a complete lower vang control unit designed specifically for Laser and ILCA dinghies, giving sailors smooth and reliable control of the kicker/vang system.

The cam cleat is mounted on a swivel, allowing the vang control line to be pulled from different angles while keeping friction to a minimum. The integrated block arrangement is designed to prevent the control line from twisting under load, helping to keep the system running smoothly when adjusting the vang on the water.

The unit attaches directly to the Laser / ILCA mast tang using a nut and bolt. A removable clevis pin is also included in the unit and can be used to dead-end the Cunningham control line, making it a practical addition to the boat's control-line setup.

The unit features Allen's A.677 Allenite cam cleat. This cleat uses a proprietary Allenite material developed to combine low weight with good heat dissipation and improved wear resistance compared with standard acetal cam cleats.

The Laser / ILCA Lower Vang Unit accepts control lines from 2–6 mm and has a height of 82 mm. Most importantly for class sailors, the complete unit is Laser and ILCA class legal.
