CURRENT VACANCIES

POSITION: CUSTOMER SERVICE ASSISTANT

Bring your customer service skills to the team.

As P&B's Customer Service Advisor your tasks will include a combination of the following tasks:

  • Answering customer enquiries, by phone or email, or passing them on to the appropriate department.
  • Giving information and helping to solve customer problems.
  • Selling products and taking orders by phone and email.
  • Preparing customer orders for postage and collection.
  • Assisting customers with enquiries in store and taking payment.
  • Processing complaints, queries and, if required, issuing refunds.
  • Taking information from customers and entering it accurately into a database.
  • Taking payments by cash, cheque or credit card.

As you'll often be the first point of contact for our customers it's essential for you to create a good impression and make sure their experience is a positive one. You'll need to be polite and approachable, confident and have the ability to remain patient in difficult situations.

Problem-solving skills and having the ability to think quickly, follow instructions, work as a team and work on your own initiative are also very desirable skills.

A knowledge of sailing or a passion for watersports would be a big advantage but your enthusiasm and skill as a customer-facing team member are our number one priority!

POSITION: SUMMER STAFF

Bridge the summer gap and join #TeamPB.

We're searching for enthusiastic people to join us at our Northampton store to help out during our busy summer season.

A love of sailing or watersport would be an advantage, but is not essential - if you're a good communicator, self-motivated and willing to learn we'd love to hear from you! 

Perfect opportunity for school/college leavers, duties could include: picking and packing orders, replenishing stock, assisting customers in store, basic admin and responding to customer queries by phone.

POSITION: WORKSHOP / BOAT FITTER

Bring your skills and passion to our Boat Fitting + Repairs Team and create championship-winning dinghies for delivery across the globe.

As a P&B Boat Fitter you will be responsible for fitting-out and rigging a range of dinghies: from simple training boats to technical race-prepared dinghies.  

We’re searching for a candidate who has the technical excellence and self-motivation to deliver work of the highest quality.

Boat repairs from light dents and scratches to substantial repair work move through our workshop, therefore an understanding of repairing gelcoat will be helpful.

An interest in sailing or understanding of sailors’ requirements would be a strong advantage. However, experience, although beneficial, is not essential as the position will include all the hands-on training you’ll need.

Usual working hours are 8.30am-5pm, with overtime available.

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 Dependent on experience.

POSITION: SAIL LOFT / SAILMAKER

Fantastic opportunity to join our thriving Sail Loft team.

Due to increased demand we're searching for additional members to join our Sail Loft team. Experience, although desirable, is not essential as this full-time position offers a great opportunity for learning  – including all the hands-on training you'll need to create sails and covers to the high standard P&B are renowned for.

You'll be involved in producing some of the most competitive racing sails in the world, from helping with making lightweight sails through to measuring, cutting, creating and finishing bespoke items for customers.

You'll need to be confident using a computer but software training will be given for running our new laser cutter.

The Sail Loft's usual working hours are 8.30am-5pm, with overtime available.

An interest in sailing would be an advantage but is not essential for this role.

POSITION: SAIL LOFT / MACHINIST

Experienced machinist required to join our sail and cover production team.

We have a full-time position for a self-motivated machinist in our Sail Loft.

Usual working hours are 8.30am-5pm.

Competitive salary + benefits.

Training available for the right candidate.
