About Us

Our Expertise, Your Advantage
At Pinnell & Bax, our commitment to our customers is that we sail for you to succeed.
We are active in our sport and compete successfully throughout the world. We know sailing.
We trial the products we supply, know they work well and know they offer value for money.
And Pinnell & Bax customers know they benefit as a result. Our expertise is your advantage.
P&B history
Our long heritage began when Alan Bax and Ian Pinnell became partners in 1985.
They moved to Northampton in 1986, and very soon sailmaking and Pinnell & Bax - P&B to its friends -
became firmly established in Talbot Road.
Success brings its own challenges. By 1997 P&B had developed into a thriving, full-service sailing business.
Talbot Road had been outgrown. That year we moved the operation into purpose built premises in Kings Heath, Northampton,
where a new loft, larger shop space and workshop would meet the needs of our ever growing customer list.
Two years later, in 1999, we had to expand further, creating 50% more space to fulfil customer orders from around the world,
to accommodate fully-rigged boat preparation and to provide a new repair shop.
Throughout this development, our philosophy that we sail for you to succeed has remained our commitment to our customers.
A Global Operation
Today P&B is a global operation, supplying customers and mounting campaigns around the world; from Europe, the Middle East and Africa,
to the Far East and Australasia, and across the Atlantic to North America.
P&B staff are respected for their sailing successes, recognised for their technical knowledge, renowned for their service.
When you buy from us we stay with you. That's our commitment too - after-sales care, technical advice, the attainment of boatspeed.
Our expertise is your advantage.
